EURAMET Peer Review of the INM Ionizing Radiations Laboratory

As a full member of EURAMET, INM is periodically passing the peer review procedure, conducted by experts from other EURAMET member states, in order to demonstrate the calibration and measurement capabilities, as well as the efficiency of the Quality Management System implemented.

Thus, during 27-28 May 2021, this procedure is being conducted in the Ionizing Radiations Laboratory (LRI). The expert is from the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Laboratory (STUK) from Finland.

According to EURAMET rules, during a peer review, the following aspects are assessed:

  • Qualifications and technical capabilities of staff;
  • Control and monitoring of environmental conditions;
  • Calibration and measurement methods, uncertainty estimations and method validation;
  • Equipment and equipment maintenance programs;
  • Measurement traceability;
  • Methods used for assuring the quality of measurements and calibrations;
  • Content and format of calibration / measurement reports; etc.
